Yonkers resident Gueovanni Patterson was arrested on Thursday, Nov. 14 in connection with an incident that happened in Yonkers earlier in the month, Yonkers Police announced on Tuesday, Nov. 19.
According to the department, on Wednesday, Nov. 6 just before 1:30 p.m., Patterson allegedly walked up behind a young woman and put his cell phone up her skirt. The victim noticed this and tried confronting him, but he then ran off, police said.
Passerby then rushed to help the victim and called police to report the incident. The department later shared surveillance footage of the crime on social media.
On the day of Patterson's arrest, the department's Intelligence Unit was able to identify him, leading to him being charged with second-degree unlawful surveillance, a felony.
Patterson was held on bail and will be awaiting his next court appearance later in the week.
